Next 1
Next 1 is a residential landscape design covering 2300 square meters in Taichung, Taiwan. The layout follows geometric lines and layered planting that create overlapping levels of depth. Curved paths guide movement along the street and soften the walking space. Multi-layer planting changes with the four seasons, and simple seats are placed in the open areas. Wide open space, repeated planting layers and pools help adjust the microclimate and reduce the need for indoor lighting. The design brings a village-like humanistic setting into the community.
Next 1 Landscapes by Hsu Fu Chu was identified as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Next 1 Landscapes earned the Iron A' Design Award in Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2021. The A' Landscape Planning and Garden Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program that recognizes exceptional design of landscape designs, public parks, residential gardens, urban plazas, campus designs, green roofs, waterfront developments, Eco-Parks, botanical gardens and more.
