Bradco Factory

Bradco

Bradco is an industrial building designed for the production of watch straps and luxury leather goods in Castelo de Paiva, Portugal. The factory is planned around natural light. Several skylights were placed on the roof so that the production area stays bright for the employees. Stone from the region was used on the exterior, together with glass and steel, to link the building to its territory. Large glazed areas create transparency between the interior and the surrounding landscape. The project was carried out between 2019 and 2020.

Bradco Factory by Cristina Vaz Santos e Paulo Rodrigues was identified as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Bradco Factory was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which celebrates exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
