Two Arches
Two Arches is a villa located in a calm setting in Damavand, Iran. The design reflects the origins of Iranian architecture from a modern point of view. Traditional principles and spatial hierarchy guide the plan to provide privacy and comfort for the inhabitants. Inspired by Iranian gardens, a waterway forms the main axis of the site. A white plane between two arches divides the public and private spaces. On the first floor, a bridge connects these areas as a corridor. The building covers 200 square meters and combines concrete and metal with brick cladding.
Two Arches Villa by Hossein Hassani was highlighted as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Two Arches Villa received the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which celebrates outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
