The Wisdom Domain
The Wisdom Domain is a guest house villa in Kenting, in southern Taiwan. The building covers 1650 square meters. Two symmetrical buildings form a square floor plan, surrounded by circular trails paved with gravel. The layout reflects the traditional idea of circular heaven and square earth. An ecological pond marks the entrance, and the garden holds flowers and trees. Large fair-faced concrete walls, slanted roofs, iron-gray metal grilles and an oval entrance recall the five elements of fengshui. Sixteen rooms differ in lighting, color, scent, music and surface materials.
The Wisdom Domain Villa by LIN, CHU-SHIUAN was recognized as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The Wisdom Domain Villa won the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition which recognizes exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
