Jiangnan No.1 Courtyard
Jiangnan No. 1 Courtyard is a residential complex built in Hangzhou, China. The design connects traditional Chinese architecture with modern living. Pitched roofs follow the gentle line proportions of traditional houses, while projecting cornices appear light and generous. Courtyards are placed between flexible interior spaces, and an outer wall defines the boundary and protects privacy. Dark grey diamond-shaped tiles, aluminium mouldings, stone and floor-to-ceiling windows give the buildings a transparent and refined appearance.
Jiangnan No.1 Courtyard Residential by gad has been identified as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Jiangnan No.1 Courtyard Residential was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that recognizes superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
