Casa Della Quercia
Casa Della Quercia is a single family villa built on a panoramic hillside site with a centuries-old oak tree. The single above-ground floor covers 105 square meters and holds two bedrooms, a kitchen, a large living room and two bathrooms. The swimming pool sits in a sheltered rear patio with a microclimate suitable for mid-season, so the front lawn stays open. A central shaft brings light and air to the basement rooms. Walls are 53 centimeters thick with 16 centimeters of insulation, and a heat pump serves underfloor heating and cooling. The flat roof simplifies maintenance.
Casa Della Quercia Single Family Villa by Andrea Brunazzi was featured as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Casa Della Quercia Single Family Villa was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2022. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize that honors excellent design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
