Misplaced Geometry
Misplaced Geometry is a resort building in Taiwan, completed in 2018. The project is formed by two connected three-story buildings of unequal heights, widths and depths, joined by a central ramp that follows the slope of the site. The corridor between the two buildings is cut on a diagonal axis and holds five trapezoidal windows. The exterior is grayscale, and white paint on the walls simulates interlocking tree branches in irregular triangular shapes. Hexagonal bricks of varying brightness clad the overhanging facades and the semi-outdoor terrace.
Misplaced Geometry Resort by BIH-JENG LIN has been selected as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Misplaced Geometry Resort was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2024. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award which celebrates superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
