Gocek
Gocek is a residential complex of 32 villas in the Gocek region of Turkey. Each villa measures between 110 and 120 square meters. The layout follows a V-shaped form that opens toward the sea view and guides natural ventilation through the living units. Semi-open and open corridors and bridges connect bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens, replacing standard closed halls. Facade cladding uses natural materials from the region, selected for long-term durability in the hot local climate. Social facilities are included to serve the residents.
Gocek Villas by Koray Yavuzer has been featured as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Gocek Villas was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2024. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that celebrates superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
