Realm of Clouds
Realm of Clouds is a residential building with 11 units in Taichung, Taiwan. The design joins architecture with planting, using multi-tiered vegetation, green facades and natural stone. The layout offers green views, daylight, fresh air and open interiors, while private pathways and independent entrances protect privacy. The facade greenery adds natural insulation and supports biodiversity. Rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient lighting and cross-ventilation reduce environmental impact. Locally sourced stone and recycled wood are also used.
Realm of Clouds Residential House by Grand Developments was selected as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Realm of Clouds Residential House received the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2025. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program that honors exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
