Roof House
The Roof House project, situated on the roof of a car showroom in Kermanshah, challenges conventional beliefs about residential spaces. This project explores alternative ways to transfigure the house concept and shift its understanding from a new perspective. It reinterprets the generic house through three key concepts: Destruction, where external forces deform the house; Explosion, where structural and non-structural elements exaggerate and withdraw from the debris; and Expansion, where objects dominate others by spreading their essence.
Roof House Residential by Yahya Kashi was identified as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Roof House Residential was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2025. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that recognizes outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
