Tubedex
Tubedex is a bus stop designed for post-industrial cities. The form is inspired by industrial pipes and is expressed through deconstructed circular tube elements. Brushed stainless steel is the main material, joined by cast connectors and screws. Solar panels above the roof supply energy, while LED lights behind frosted glass illuminate the waiting area. An interactive screen in bold red shows real-time information such as time, weather and the expected bus load rate. The aim is to make bus service information clearer and easier to read.
Tubedex Bus Station by Wenkai Xue was selected as a creative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Tubedex Bus Station was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Street Furniture Design in 2025. The A' Street and City Furniture Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which rewards exceptional design of benches, bollards, bus shelters, bicycle racks, litter bins, planters, signage, lighting fixtures and more.
