Chosen Temple Religious Institution

Chosen Temple

Chosen Temple is a small Buddhist temple located in Asakuchi City, Okayama, Japan. The building is made of reinforced concrete, with exterior walls clad in carefully selected Japanese granite. Traditional Japanese woodworking is used inside, creating a calm and warm interior. The temple stands on a site of 950 square meters and has a building area of 77 square meters. The design places the temple in harmony with the surrounding landscape and offers visitors a quiet place for prayer and meditation while enjoying the view.

Chosen Temple Religious Institution by Yuki Yamada was selected as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Chosen Temple Religious Institution was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2026. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design recognition program that celebrates superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
