House for Parents Residence

Masakatsu Matsuyama Residence Architecture

House for Parents

House for Parents is a residence on Amami-Oshima Island, an area with a severe subtropical climate and frequent typhoons. A large rectangular roof is supported by a steel framework structure with a four meter span. The roof creates a cool and shaded interior, similar to the space under large trees. The concrete walls stand independently from the roof structure, so the floor plan is free from restrictions caused by columns. Projecting concrete walls extend the common areas outward toward the surrounding island landscape.

House in Shiraiwa

One of the main concepts is 'Seamless Spatial Composition'. You can circulate through the spaces in this home looking at the owner’s collection of artwork just as if you were passing through galleries in a museum.

Skewed House Residence

Hardik Shah Residence Architecture

Skewed House

Skewed is a standalone villa located in Surat, India. The house covers 11,000 square feet and is planned as a series of interconnected vistas. Elements are shifted slightly off the straight line, which creates varied perspectives within the three-dimensional form. Simple aesthetics, a minimal material palette and close connections to nature guide the design. Black granite flooring, concrete and plaster walls, and teak windows and interior woodwork are used throughout. A garden on the first floor is carried by a post tensioned slab and connects with the whole house.
